Special Programs

The school is the location of the Department of Education's Leaps and Bounds program. Leaps & Bounds is a Department of Education & Training facility, set up to assist students to bring about a positive change to their lives. The facility is staffed by a team of passionate, committed and experienced educators and enjoys the support of the wider educational community. It consists of 2 mod-5 relocatable classrooms, a lock-up garage for storage of the school mini-bus, as well as a number of garden sheds. Leaps & Bounds also owns and administers the High and Low Challenge Ropes Course. The program focuses on adolescents who have displayed severe social and emotional problems in mainstream schools.[4]

From 2002 - 2005 the school participated in a Celebrating Diversity project which saw the formation of a working party that met twice a term and identified areas that were being managed satisfactorily and those that needed improvement. The project was run by the S.E.A (Same Sex Attracted & Transgender Eastern Action Group) which is a working group made up of workers from youth service providers across the eastern region. S.E.A is committed to enhancing the health and well being of same sex attracted & Transgender young people in the eastern region of Melbourne, Australia. The staff showed interest in training and received some professional development, and positive outcomes have been experienced.[5]
